Fall 2024
Huge thank you to everyone who participated in this weekends RISAA Fall Club Challenge. We
cleaned house on the awards this fall and came home with the trophy, largest striper, and largest
bluefish. We donated $265 to the Johnny Cakes Center through our contributions from the
breakfast and lunch at the cabin- another big thanks to all who helped make the event possible.
Thanks,
Justin Poole RIMS #101

Spring 2024
Message from Justin Poole
We came we saw- we almost conquered. Congrats to Hartford Surf on their
win for the RISAA Spring Surf Challenge. We were close with half an inch behind for second place with Todd Zagurski leading our club and congrats to him for catching the largest striped bass in the tournament. Thanks to everyone who participated this weekend.

Al Zumwalt Fishing Tournament
Al, a RIMS member from the early 1970’s until his passing in 1992, was a deeply devoted fisherman. It was not uncommon for him to fish a 6 hour tide from beginning to end without stopping. Al was an avid surf fisherman, he never fished from a boat, which is why this tournament is a surf fishing only tournament. Al devoted his heart and sole to RIMS and surf fishing at Quonnie. Al was a well liked and respected member who would share his wealth of surf fishing knowledge to anyone who asked or just happened to be fishing next to him. In 1992 RIMS dedicated this fishing tournament in his name.
